Ben Te’o signs for Japanese Super Rugby side Sunwolves
Western side Sunwolves will be joined by former England centre Ben Te’o .
The 32-year-old joined French side Toulon after being left out of Eddie Jones’ World Cup squad.
The England omission of te’o came after an altercation with full-back Mike Brown if Brown was also left out of Jones’ squad.
Te’o is one of 14 gamers at the Sunwolves’ initial 15-man squad.
Australian variety eight Jake Schatz, who’s played in 92 Super Rugby matches for the Brisbane Reds, also Georgia hooker Jaba Bregvadze will also be added for the 2020 period that starts in February.
This year is put to the be the Sunwolves’ closing Super Rugby campaign following the Western Rugby Football Union along with the tournament organisers failed to reach an agreement in their continued involvement.
The team have won just eight of the 62 games at the competition since they joined in 2016, but the opportunity it has provided for gamers to play with and against overseas celebrities has been praised by nationwide team trainer Jamie Joseph.
New Zealand-born Te’o, who contains 20 England caps and has represented Samoa at league, abandoned Worcester after three years in Sixways at the end of last season.
His choice to move again leaves him inaccessible to England under the Rugby Football Union’s global selection policy.
