Callum McGregor: Celtic midfielder embracing packed fixture list
Callum McGregor says since they indicate their return, a congested fixture list will be embraced by Celtic.
Celtic scored an all-important away goal against Copenhagen on Thursday within their Europa League leg, and will look to extend their lead on top of the Scottish Premiership.
That gap is 10 points over Rangers, albeit Celtic have played a game more, and Scotland midfielder McGregor states they will welcome the challenge posed with a Kilmarnock side who have won three of the last four at the league.
“The games appear to be coming around all the time but that’s exactly what you need when you are playing well and have been in a good run of form,” McGregor said.
“You just need the next one to continue coming and of course again, it’ll be a challenging game.
“Killie are always organised when they come into Celtic Park and tough to break , or so the onus is really on us to do this and get the 3 points.”
The draw at Denmark finished a succession of eight successive wins in 2020 in all competitions such as Celtic, but McGregor is optimistic they can finish the task.
He explained:”The boss touched on this, we’ve had a terrific run and we do not want it to stop today.
“We feel good about ourselves, we all feel that we are a good aspect in Europe, we have that counter-attack hazard that we look like we can always score and probably on another night we maybe get four or three.
“We were probably somewhat lucky in the end of the match but we all fancy ourselves going back home”
