England’s World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan awarded Middlesex testimonial year
England’s World Cup-winning captain Middlesex in 2020 has awarded a year Eoin Morgan.
The 33-year-old has generated over 250 looks across the 3 formats that were domestic in amongst his England responsibilities and made his first XI introduction for the county in 2005.
Angus Fraser, Middlesex’s management director of cricket, said:”Eoin’s teenage transfer from Dublin to London, his evolution from a bashful 16-year-old boy that played with second XI cricket for Middlesex into the man that guided England to World Cup glory in Lord’s is nearly a fairy-tale-like story.
“It is also something that everybody at Middlesex Cricket must be exceedingly proud of.
“These achievements over just merit a testimonial and I am sure Eoin will get the help his career warrants.”
Morgan added:”It is a enormous honour for me to be given a testimonial year in 2020.
“I’m extremely proud to have been in Middlesex because the age of 16 and everyone at the club has ever played a part in me becoming the individual and player I am today. I’m extremely thankful for their service and advice.”
Watch day among the second Test between New Zealand and England out of 9.30pm, Thursday on Sky Sports Cricket.
