Erling Braut Håland has ‘potential to be an incredibly great player,’ says Salzburg coach
In the distance of a couple weeks H??land’s goalscoring feats — he has bagged 22 goals including four hat-tricks at the Champions League and the flight — has set him.
“This club is a superb spot for young players to develop and it is a quiet town,” Red Bull Salzburg head trainer Jesse Marsch informed Sport’s Alex Thomas, as he revealed on H??land’s breakout season.
“It’s also a team where players can make mistakes, but still thrive and succeed before they choose the next huge step into bigger leagues”

The likes of Inter Milan’s Valentino Lazaro Liverpool’s Sadio Mane, the Martin Hinteregger of Eintracht Frankfurt or RB Leipzig’s Dominik Szoboszlai integrated into European leading clubs and have recently come through the rankings of Salzburg.
H??land moved into Salzburg in Austria in January 2019 from Norwegian club Molde and started the new season in red hot form, scoring a hat-trick within his first match of the year — a 7-1 Austrian Cup win against SC-ESV Parndorf — and at his fourth game — a 5-2 Austrian league triumph against Wolfsberger.
In May, H??land scored nine goals as it conquered Honduras 12-0 at a World Cup match.
He then seamlessly moved his form to the leading club contest of Europe .
That hot streak had him allegedly linked together with the likes of English Premier League clubs Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool as well as RB Leipzig of the German Bundesliga.
Marsch confessed it will be hard for the club to keep hold of H??land but expects that the bond between his dad Alf-Inge, that played for Manchester City and Leeds United, and Salzburg’s sporting director Christoph Freund would have an impact.
“They have a excellent relationship. We have been really open with each other regarding protecting Erling in the media and the simple fact that there are obvious measures for him and us as a team and how to move forward collectively.”

H??land was born in Leeds and has formed an attachment for soccer, that brings up the question when he will make the move.
Marsch hinted it could be quite soon:”We’re optimistic that Erling completes here and he can continue to grow and eventually become a larger guy.”
The six feet 4 inches tall teenager has everything to follow his father’s footsteps and even surpass him. He scored 27 goals in 23 appearances and Salzburg boss Marsch pinpointed two important qualities that may help since linking Salzburg.
“It’s the talent he has but it’s more notably his personality,” said Marsch. “I have not seen one selfish moment since I’ve known him at the past six weeks.
“We went through a time interval where he had been giving up penalties to his teammatesbecause he felt like he wanted to discuss the positive energy along together with other men in the team and I needed to step in and say no, Erling is taking our penalties”

Now it is on the adolescent and his father, in addition to Salzburg, to determine about the next career move of the 19-year-old.
Until then, Salzburg will be sure their rough diamond becomes so polishing.
“We will just continue to concentrate on Erling loving himself and loving his soccer, so that he does not get side tracked whatsoever and gives himself the best opportunity to be the ideal person and footballer he can be.”
