Ethan Hayter signs for Team Ineos for next three seasons
Leading British rider Ethan Hayter has united Team Ineos on a deal.
Hayter spent some time in the end of this 2018 season with the staff for a stagiaire and has been a part of the service group that helped Gianni Moscon win at the Coppa Agostoni and Giro della Toscana.
Even the 21-year-old continued his advancement 2019, both to track and the streets, and won stages in the Baby Giro and Tour p l’Avenir, two of the biggest races for riders.
Hayter explained:”It’s the best spot for me to start my career as an expert road rider and also the very ideal place for me to be together with the Olympics coming up next year also.
“This group has lots of riders for me to take inspiration from and there is so much youthful talent in the team as this year has shown.
“Along with Egan Bernal, Pavel Sivakov and Tao Geoghagan Hart receiving chances at the Grand Tours, there’s other young riders like Chris Lawless – who had been someone I had been rushing against at U23 level not long ago – winning the Tour de Yorkshire, so there is a lot of different avenues to follow.
“The Baby Giro and Tour p l’Avenir would be the biggest races in U23 level and I won stages in both of them so that was a massive confidence boost heading into the new year.
“At the Baby Giro, I was sixth on one of those mountain stages so I was right up on the climbs and the sprints, so I might have to discover which type of race suits me the best. This means I will appear at most race profiles and still have a move.”
Hayter is the third rider to join with team – formerly supported by Sky – after the signings of Brandon Rivera and Spanish junior time-trial champion Carlos Rodriguez.
