FA Cup: Newport County need late winner against Maldon & Titptree
League Two Newport County needed an injury-time winner from Padraig Amond to Conquer non-league Maldon & Tiptree at the FA Cup next round.
Amond header at the minute watched the spirited eighth-tier facet from Essex.
But there will be concern for Newport defender Kyle Howkins, who had been taken to hospital after suffering a head injury.
The Welsh side will be in the third-round draw of Monday, dwell on the Sport site and 2 from 19:00 GMT.
Howkins received therapy before being carried off and took a blow to the head at the 64th minute in an aerial battle with the Charlee Hughes of Maldon.
“The most significant issue is that he is OK,” said Newport manager Michael Flynn.
“He’s stable, he’s fine. He will be staying overnight but they have said he is secure and that is the thing. This makes you believe about family and life and puts football on the back step.”
