Fabio Cannavaro: Guangzhou Evergrande win Chinese Super League
Fabio Cannavaro has won the first honour of his managerial career with Guangzhou Evergrande sealing his eighth Super League title just weeks after he seemed set to be terminated.
Cannavaro was briefly stood down from spiritual responsibilities in late October to attend a”corporate culture course”.
The club’s owners then decided to restore him as boss after he agreed to”heavy self-reflection”.
On Sunday, they overcome second-bottom Shenhua 3-0 to secure the name.
Goalscorer Park Ji-soo celebrated his target by running to adopt Cannavaro.
Beijing Guoan were just two things back in second position while Rafael Benitez’s side Dalian Yifang finished ninth.
Cannavaro, Italy’s World Cup-winning leader in 2006, had been criticised for his”feeble ability to rectify mistakes and insufficiently strict handling of gamers” by his team.
He was also cautioned to perform harder, improve the standard of his training staff, and”raise the gamers’ overall fighting ability to win the Chinese Super League” again.
