Fulham defeat on a disappointing Derby 3-0 at Craven Cottage to move into third place at the Sky Bet Championship table.
Goals by Aleksandar Mitrovic at the first half and Bobby Decordova-Reid and a third by ruler Tom Cairney implied they are starting to find the consistency that eluded them and gave Scott Parker’s side a third consecutive victory.
Derby continued. They’re without a league victory on the road since the game of this year Though they have won their past five home matches.
Their impressive success over Preston at the weekend was a distant memory here as they failed to make an impression after missing an early chance that is fantastic.
They have now lost four successive league matches for the very first since March 2017 if Steve McClaren had been in his moment spell as director.
They need to have been ahead after five minutes however the unmarked Tom Lawrence miscued of target in Max Lowe’s cross.
Instead it was Fulham who took the lead two minutes later when Derby only half-cleared a corner kick.
Where Decordova-Reid got his toe to score his first goal since joining the London club on loan from Cardiff in 38, aboubakar Kamara returned the ball.
Fulham played clever football but also showed they could keep things simple when required. After 28 minutes, Ivan Cavaleiro compelled a diving save using a swerving shooter from the low pass of Kamara from Roos.
Plus it had been the most fundamental of routines that are corner-kick that brought Fulham their five minutes prior to half-time.
Mitrovic outmuscled his marker to get underneath the kick of Cavaleiro in the left and head past a Roos.
A third would not have flattered Fulham when Cairney curled a shot inches over the crossbar, and they got it in time.
After 47 minutes using a diving save to keep a snap shot from Mitrovic and Roos came into the rescue.
Then Fulham were content to settle back and hit on the break, and almost felt when Mitrovic saw a shot blocked after good work by substitute Anthony Knockaert and Cavaleiro.
But then very little was found within an attacking force of Derby before Martyn Waghorn shot wide from a cross after 70 minutes by Max Lowe.
Cairney completed the scoring in the 89th minute, hitting the ball throughout Roos’ legs out of an overhaul by Mitrovic.
