Granit Xhaka: Arsenal midfielder could return against Southampton – Unai Emery

Unai Emery says even though claiming that he was unsure if he would play with the club Granit Xhaka could return on Saturday.
27, xhaka, had been stripped of the captaincy after his confrontation with Gunners fans at a match against Crystal Palace last month.
Boss Emery believes he is now ready to go back although the midfielder hasn’t featured in Arsenal’s last four games.
“We shall decide on Friday,” said Emery.
“He is coming back better in his thoughts, his mindset is better to help us and to be closer to playing when we need him.”
Xhaka was an ever present for Arsenal this year but responded to being booed by cupping his ears, as he walked off the pitch at the 2-2 draw.
The Switzerland international later published a statement stating that he had”reached boiling point” after repeated threats to his wife and daughter.
Emery included:”I talked to him this afternoon and we had an excellent conversation. He trained well before the global break this afternoon and he trained.
“My goal is going to be his comeback to assist us convince every supporter of his devotion with us and his performances would be better and they will be pleased of him in the short or long run with us.”
