International aim for Pentland Hills
Pentland Hills is firmly on track to make his seasonal reappearance at the Unibet International Hurdle at Cheltenham.
Educated on the Apartment by Chris Wall, Motivator’s boy won all his three starts over obstacles season – to landing the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and the Anniversary, progressing from a low-key win at Plumpton 4-Y-O Hurdle at Aintree.
Nicky Henderson’s four-year-old will need to take this season – and his very first port of call will be defined to become Prestbury Park on December 14 with this #140,000 Grade Two.
“The International is the plan with Pentland Hills. He was brilliant last year and we were thrilled with his performance from the Triumph Hurdle,” explained Henderson.
“We took him to Newbury to get a gallop last week and then he happy with that which he did.
“The International seems the Perfect race to goal, as Buveur D’Air is going for the Struggling Minute (at Newcastle on Saturday) and also Fusil Raffles will go to your Christmas Hurdle (in Kempton on Boxing Day).”
Pentland Hills is a best following 13, priced 10-1 for the Champion Hurdle. His stablemate Buveur D’Air is the marginal favorite at 5-1 to raise the two-mile hurdling crown for the next time.
