Jan Vertonghen still keen to discuss new Tottenham deal after Jose Mourinho’s arrival

Jan Vertonghen remains eager to go over a new deal Sky Sports News knows.
The Belgium deal expires and he’ll be free to speak to clubs in January.
Vertonghen, who was of interest in Roma and Bayer Leverkusen, was open to discussions over an extension under previous supervisor Mauricio Pochettino – also he had been told he was not available in the summer.
But Sky Sports News understands that formal talks have to take place between chairman Daniel Levy and the representatives of Vertonghen.
Later lost Mourinho’s launching Premier League win during trauma at West Ham the 32-year-old was again back on the seat for Tuesday night’s Champions League win over Olympiakos.
Vertonghen is just one of Spurs’ longest-serving and many experienced players, having made 294 appearances since joining for around #10m at 2012.
However he remains one of three senior players whose futures are uncertain along with Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld, whose current prices also expire in June 2020.
