Marta Bassino wins World Cup Giant Slalom in Killington, USA
After Controlling the slopes of Killington at the Giant Slalom on 21, her first World Cup event was won by marta Bassino.
This was the answer for the Sky Sports Scholar into a lacklustre showing from the opener in Austria of the season in Austria earlier in November.
After four preceding third-place ends on the World Cup circuit, then Bassino sealed best spot on the podium in the us by claiming her first-run lead to beat her compatriot Federica Brignone by 0.26 moments.
Three-time defending World Cup champion and local favourite Mikaela Shiffrin, together with all 61 World Cup wins, had to settle for the third.
Bassino said:”It’s like a fantasy. I have been pursuing this result for quite a very long time and after years of challenging training, commitment and enthusiasm I where I aimed at!
“I managed to reach two runs. Following the initial one I had a super feeling on my skis and I realised that I could create it.
“I attempted to focus just on myself and to ski just like I know how. I watched the light and I thought, Wow!
“At the onset of the second series I actually focused on some technical tips without thinking too much about my situation and that I fulfilled my fantasy!
I hope this can be a turning point for my own career. I understood I had an effect similar to this in me, I just needed a spark to transform what I do every day into golden.
“Now I only need to continue to build my life brick and I really really can’t await the next race”
