Matt Prior: Leeds Rhinos sign New South Wales State of Origin forward on two-year deal
Leeds Rhinos have signed forward Matt Prior from NRL unwanted Cronulla Sharks on a yearlong deal, to completing a health subject.
The knowledgeable prop had played 250 matches at the NRL and represented New South Wales in the State of Origin.
On the move, Prior said:”I understand that Leeds Rhinos have a fantastic background but have experienced some hard times in recent years.
“Hopefully I can play my role in lifting the golf carts and get us back to challenging for silverware back again.
“I signed for the Rhinos a couple of years ago but we did not get the deal completed so this is something I’ve always had in my own head.
“It is a fun time to be proceeding into Super League with players such as Sonny Bill Williams, Gareth Widdop and George Burgess coming to an unforgiving competition and I can’t wait to get involved with the Rhinos boys in practice .”
The club also have affirmed that international Trent Merrin has been allowed to leave the club to grounds to go home to Australia.
