“Then you get the wonderful struggles on the point and I believe that’s excellent for darts, especially characters such as Gerwyn Price because he’s doing very well lately, but I’m glad I can put the strain on him yesterday and beat him at a really important closing.
“If I’m in my best it is impossible for them to beat me but you can say whatever you want, then you have to reveal it on the stage.
“You are not allowed to make mistakes because these are guys that exercise every day and I have a big target on my back – they always offer just a tiny bit farther against me against anyone else,” he further added.

“People threw everything in my year since I showed some weakness at the summer – I didn’t play 100 percent my game however, the bounce back feels even better.
“Of course I do not fear anyone. In the event you dread anyone you are 1-0 supporting and you should not place yourself. You have to concentrate on your own strengths and not your weaknesses.
“Yes they fear me, that’s 1 thing for certain but I do not need mind-games. I want to let my darts speak and I need to be sure that I do the proper things in the proper moments.”

“Of course Gary Anderson [is a danger ] because he has never had the best season but he will measure up like he always does,” Van Gerwen added.
“Raymond generally works well here. Rob Cross, Gerwyn Price and darts are enjoying. There are many players currently playing well who could travel far in the championship but are they really capable of winning the championship? I don’t know.”

“It is very important because in case you don’t have conflicts like that folks may see it as boring. Nowadays you find one goes off and Gerwyn Price steps upward. Rob Cross had a couple of peaks at the World Matchplay and the Championship, so it has been great this season.
“It is definitely going to be tough because they are playing fantastic darts against mepersonally. I know what I have to do to win the tournament but you need to perform it
