Nuno wouldn’t be drawn on the speculation as he confronted the media before Wolves’ Europa League match off to Braga.
“You understand me and you know I am not going to answer that,” he said.
“I wouldn’t ever mention a problem that’s not a reality, mainly as talking about a project which has a supervisor would be disrespectful and that I won’t do this.
“We’re doing OK, there’s a great deal of space to improve, it needs a great deal of work but that is what we’ve been doing since day one when we began from the Championship.
“There are no distractions whatsoever. I really don’t speak about chances, I do not speak about things that aren’t real, what’s real is that we’re here, we have to train and prepare ourselves.”
Goalkeeper Rui Patricio believes it is vital should they want to match their ambitions, Wolves hang on to Nuno.
“It is very important to keep Nuno in the club, not just for the players but for the club also. We have ambitions in this rivalry,” stated the Portugal global.
“Stability is required in almost any club, without a shadow of doubt, in order for the club to come up with and eventually become greater.
“It’s not only about the coach. You want a staff that is good . Nuno is an outstanding coach and also a leader, and we want him to keep growing, not only the staff but also the players also.”
Wolves are a point behind Group K leaders Braga plus a draw could take both teams .
“The strategy is always the same,” additional Nuno. “Compete nicely, listen to all the details that we have.
“We know we will confront a great supervisor with good players.”
