Premier League Darts: Fallon Sherrock says her gender is no longer a topic of conversation
Fallon Sherrock considers her sex is a subject of conversation following her impressive Premier League debut look in Nottingham.
The 25-year-old became the very first woman to win a match at the PDC World Championship in December and also on Thursday attracted 6-6 with BDO world champion Glen Durrant.
“They aren’t thinking [about] a girl playing with a man,” she told Radio 5 Live.
“They are seeing them playing with a good game on TV.”
She added:”I feel I can focus a little more on playing darts now folks are just viewing a similar playing field.”
Sherrock was granted the opportunity to appear as a Premier League’challenger’ after reaching the last 32.
Not one of the 10 challengers had won their own games and Sherrock dropped just short of longer history having led 6-5 going into the last leg.
The Buckinghamshire-born participant said:”I had been a bit more prepared regarding the pressure and interviews.
“The atmosphere has been exactly the same as when I played Alexandra Palace but I felt more ready than once I jumped in at the deep end in the Worlds.”
