Real Madrid 3-1 Real Sociedad: Gareth Bale returns as Real fight back

Substitute Gareth Bale received a mixed reception in the Bernabeu as Real Madrid fought to defeat Real Sociedad and stay joint-top of La Liga with Barcelona.

Bale was pictured using a flag reading”Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order” while on international duty and has been initially jeered by home supporters.
Willian Jose opener was cancelled out by karim Benzema.
Second-half goals from Federico Valverde and Luka Modric sealed success.
Earlier on Saturday champions Barcelona edged Leganes to transfer three points ahead of Real Madrid.
Zinedine Zidane’s negative left the worst possible start to their bid to keep up with their opponents when Willian Jose intercepted Sergio Ramos’ back pass that was ill-judged and round goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
But Karim Benzema’s aim before half-time – his fifth in three matches for Real – was followed by Valverde’s deflected shot and the well-taken end of Modric as the hosts dominated following the period.
When declared prior to kick-off supporters had jeered bale’s title, and he even received a reaction when introduced in the chair after 67 minutes to get his Real appearance since 5 October.
Following posing with all the controversial flag because his nation guaranteed eligibility on Tuesday for Euro 2020 the Wales forward received heavy criticism from the press.
Manager Zidane has insisted there isn’t any need to discuss the incident and by fulltime Bale seemed to have earned some support back – also his efforts since the game closed out and receiving applause for the role he played the third of Modric.
Attention now turns to the Champions League for Zidane’s side, that sponsor Paris St-Germain on Tuesday (20:00 GMT).
