The British celebrity rematches Ruiz Jr Saturday at a minute fight that is spectacular, live on Sky Sports Box Office, with the WBA’super’, WBO and IBF belts on the line in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.
Hearn is confident that his career defeat will be avenged by Joshua in fashion, but remains mindful of the threat which Ruiz Jr poses.
“I spoke to him (Joshua) a day or two before, he’s in Saudi Arabia and very satisfied. He’s trained hard and is only tapering down now, likely getting his final sparring in,” Hearn told Sky Sports.
“It took him a while to get over the defeat, he had to ask himself some questions, however the way he’s bounced back is admirable.
“He is put everything within this camp and could not have tried any harder.
“This isn’t a man shirking a struggle. It’s not a man asking for an easy warm-up battle. Again and again he’s doing it . There is A warm-up struggle not at Anthony Joshua’s language.
“Creating a legacy has become the motivation and I believe he’ll win and if he can, it will be sweet. It is hard though, it’s a 50/50 fight, he has to overcome that mental war of being stopped by Ruiz Jr out time.”
