Sergio Aguero: Manchester City forward out for a few weeks with injury, says Pep Guardiola
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has confirmed striker Sergio Aguero will be out”for a couple weeks” with the thigh injury he sustained in Saturday’s win against Chelsea.
31, argentina striker Aguero, hobbled off after 77 minutes of their 2-1 success.
Aguero – who missed last term to five games using a groin problem – has scored 13 goals in 16 matches this year.
“Sergio will be outside for a few matches,” explained Guardiola.
The supervisor additional Aguero will”need a miracle” to be healthy for the Manchester derby on 7 December.
Gabriel Jesus, who has featured from the bench this season, is expected to feature more prominently during the absence of Aguero.
The Brazil international, who has scored five goals in 16 appearances, said:”I am happy Sergio is wounded.
“I really don’t like it when my friends are injured, but each day that I work hard and I am ready.”
Jesus is Very Likely to direct the line after Manchester City host Shakhtar.
