Sheffield United 1-1 Brighton & Hove Albion: Maupay scores on Brighton return against Sheff Utd

Since Neal Maupay indicated his return to Brighton from 20, sheffield United’s hopes of qualifying for Europe were defeated.
Enda Stevens’ finish that is rasping put the Blades in control as Maupay obtained to nod that the traffic level but the guide was short lived.
Lewis Dunk missed a chance to put the visitors ahead of Stevens was dropped by the Blades .
John Fleck, who signed up a fresh Sheffield United contract before kick-off before 2023, went close but Brighton were total value as they secured a third successive draw.
With 11 games the Blades have reached 40 points – the magic number that is allegedly required to guarantee Premier League success.
It is a tremendous achievement for a team that just won promotion last year, but Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has made it clear that he would like to kick and attain other targets.
The Blades have every possibility of procuring a top-four or even top-five complete, which would rate as one of the greatest accomplishment of their Premier League age – they were unable to end off a side fighting to avoid the bottom three.
Their first game back from the winter appeared to be going to plan when Stevens, who was playing with Portsmouth in League Two made a superior finish following Brighton could only half clear Oliver Norwood’s cross.
While Stevens was lost by United to injury yet Brighton were flat within five minutes.
Oli McBurnie and Fleck had opportunities to win it send the Blades above Tottenham to the fifth spot, which may be enough to earn a spot in next season’s Champions League now that Manchester City have been prohibited from Uefa contests for the next two seasons, pending an appeal.
But for now the side of Chris Wilder stay sixth – level points with Spurs.
