Thailand Women lose T20 World Cup debut to West Indies
Thailand showed lots of potential but were finally conquered by West Indies in the T20 World Cup debut of their Women, succumbing to a defeat.
Thailand were active in the area and skilful using the chunk to possess West Indies rattled at 27-3 following seven overs of that which had appeared to be a of 79.
That outlook might have even been better for its debutants, but for the intervention of DRS. Chanida Sutthiruang had Shermaine Campbelle given out lbw to some barbarous inswinger to end the seventh over – a fourth wicket to fall for eight runs in the space of three overs – however, on inspection, the ball was really shown to do too much and slipping down leg.
Campbelle (25no) wrapped around, sharing within a fifty venture with Stafanie Taylor (26no), prior to celebrating her 100th T20 international appearance by hitting the winning runs from the 17th over.
