Tony Finau flattered by golf fan’s ‘clever’ song about the American’s lack of wins!
Tony Finau is looking forward to the remix of this tune that’s become the talk of the PGA Tour during the previous week, entitled”When will Tony Finau win again?”
Sam Harrop posted a light-hearted of an REO Speedwagon classic tune on social media as”an ode to Tony Finau”, a couple of days following the American suffered yet another near-miss if he was pipped to the Phoenix Open title by Webb Simpson.
Finau’s consistency has lifted him 12th at the world rankings, but his lone PGA Tour success stays the Puerto Rico Open back in 2016, because when he has recorded no more than nine top-three endings and a 23 top-10s.
The 30-year-old, who has also posted five top-10s in his past eight big championships, confessed that Harrop’s song was”honestly flattering”, and he remains confident that win No two will happen sooner, instead of later.
“It was so good,” Finau told Sky Sports Golf ahead of the Genesis Invitational in California. “Someone tweeted it , and I watched it together with my uncle and we’re laughing the whole time. It was clever, and I have told Sam that when I do win , he’ll have to throw me the remix!
“It was honestly flattering for me, and very cool. I have a great deal of fans and they are all waiting for me to triumph. I am doing the work to do so, and hopefully it comes right.
“It seems close. Fourteen months ago in Phoenix, obviously it had been a heart-breaker that I lost. However, I heard a lot and it’s just going to make me more powerful and better. I am a fighter.
“I was on camera right after and saying I would persevere through anything, and I definitely will.”
