UK Championship 2019: Neil Robertson and Ali Carter both win 6-0 in first round
Two-time winner Neil Robertson Defeated Malta’s Alex Borg 6-0 to Eventually Become the first Person to reach Across two of the UK Championship at the York Barbican.
The Australian world number four scored 2 fractures of 81 and a century against Borg, ranked 121 places.
Double a semi-finalist in the case, ali Carter, was also a 6-0 winner from fellow Englishman Brandon Sargeant about the afternoon.
Robertson was delighted with a success that was”nice and simple”.
But he believed he missed on three centuries.
“Alex is quite experienced but he did not appear,” added Robertson, 37, who plays either Robbie Williams or Luo Honghao in the next round. “I was not actually put under some pressure.”
Scotland’s John Higgins puts his championship under way in the day session against Peter Lines, although England’s world number 11 David Gilbert is in actions against James Cahill.
World number one Judd Trump plays with with the Amine Amiri from the opening round on Thursday at 14:30 GMT of Morocco, and seven-time champion Ronnie O’Sullivan is in activity against Ross Bulman that day.
