Unai Emery pleads with Arsenal fans to bring back fear factor
Unai Emery would like to”join” with Arsenal fans to bring a fear factor back to the Emirates.
The Arsenal head coach acknowledged”doubts” regarding him are coming back after his side had been booed off after the 2-2 home draw against Southampton, their fifth game without a win in the Premier League.
Emery was due to produce a masterclass and coping with prejudice in the game at a London soccer university on Friday, following negative comments were posted on media , but the episode was cancelled.
Emery said his future is”today and tomorrow” before Thursday’s Europa League visit of Eintracht Frankfurt, when victory will secure a spot in the knockout stages.
A week, mauricio Pochettino, spanned by Tottenham, and assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, Mikel Arteta, are touted as replacements for Emery.
“My only focus is to demonstrate a good performance and join with our supporters,” Emery said.
“Teams are arriving here fearless people, this is actually the very first thing we must modify.
“First we need to connect with them and show them. My desire is that the fans help the staff because we want them.
“I wish to associate with them.”
Emery confessed a number of his players ‘”not feeling 100 per cent confident”.
Granit Xhaka can be obtained since being stripped of the captaincy to come back to the Arsenal squad for the first time, said Emery.
He hasn’t played since his angry reaction when he had been booed off against Crystal Palace last month.
Emery previously suggested Xhaka may never play with the club .
“He’s in the team and has the possibility to perform ,” said Emery. “I expect each supporter supports the group.
“Xhaka’s comeback will be important for us.”
Shkodran Mustafi insisted the Arsenal players are combined in their bid to quit falling results.
“When the coach is under stress that the players are under pressure,” he explained.
“We stay together, fight for one another. The boys at the dressing room, the training staff, we are all in precisely exactly the identical boat.”
However, Mustafi, 27, has just 18 months remaining on his deal at Arsenal and admits he would consider other opportunities.
“If there is something which satisfies me and I want to create the following step, I’m open to considering it,” he said.
“At the moment I’m in a situation where we must place our personal interest from the backdrop. Now it’s about the team.
“I’m not interested in my own future.
“This is not only me, everyone in the dressing area.
“Lots of people talk and provide opinions, but everyone in the dressing area is completely focused on providing everything to get out of this.
“It makes life easier for people when things go great.”
