Valtteri Bottas to start at back of Abu Dhabi GP grid for Mercedes
Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas will start Sunday’s season-ending Abu Dhabi GP in the rear of the grid after collecting engine penalties for F1’s world champions.
The Finn suffered Mercedes’ only mechanical-related retirement of this year which has caused the staff installing a power unit to its season finale.
The modifications take Bottas over the engine limit for the season.
His start is going to be the very first time a race has been started by that a Mercedes driver from out the top six all year.
A four-time race winner in 2019, bottas, is already guaranteed to finish second to team-mate Lewis Hamilton in this year’s Drivers’ Championship – the best-career of the 30-year-old finish.

The final race of this 2019 year occurs at Abu Dhabi that weekend, and will be live on Sky Sports F1.
